Have you had a pet that makes you laugh a lot? I have had several; cats, dogs and parrots, and they all have their own specific antics which make one erupt into peals of laughter.
You can even think of the things they habitually do that are hilarious like cats jumping at funny noises, dogs rolling around to get patted and parrots saying random things they have picked up at random times. Pandas are also similar animals that do hilarious antics which are a treat to watch. Since they are large and heavy, they are often awfully clumsy with themselves, falling here and there being unable to support themselves.
The panda in the video is like an overgrown baby, one that is stubborn and quite spoilt! From the very first scene you can see how frisky and playful he is, trying to get into places he should not and having to be carried away like you would carry a baby. He is seen trying to climb up a wall when the staff there, most probably his caregiver, comes and picks up to take him away. I wonder if this is funny or eerie, but the caregivers are seen wearing panda faces as caps! They are also wearing black and white uniforms so maybe it is all to blend in with the pandas, to not scare them and to keep them safe.
The caregiver then puts him down and the panda falls flat on his face. He did not even try to stand up or support himself. He then scampered away, which is a fast speed considering the panda has greater mass. He was running towards a downward slope and the care-giver tried to stop him. She had pulled him back and he was lying on his back, so she let go but this clever panda immediately seized that moment to tuna way again! It is exactly like you are watching a frisky, naughty little boy, and I think most parents would agree with me. By this time another care-giver had come to help the first one to keep the panda away from the slope but he was already sliding down. They tried to pull him back by pulling his legs but he kept pulling himself. Finally he was able to pull himself away and slid down the slope. You can hear the crowd gasp as he slid, it was so sudden.
Once he was down in the little grassy alley, he trotted around happily. You can see how happy he is from the way he is walking around, happily roaming about all along the length of the area. Once he had walked and seen all parts of it, he wanted to come back up and so he tried to climb up from the alley. You can see him struggling as he tries to pull himself, stretching his hands and lifting himself with one foot climbing up on the slope. He seemed disheartened as he could not pull himself up and say back down. But then again he began reaching upwards and this time the care-giver was there to help him up. She balanced herself carefully on the edge and tried to reach out to grasp one of the panda’s hands. She pulled him out by pulling the hand and he helped himself out too by using the other hand and feet to climb out.
He was out and as the care-giver was stepping back, she let go of his hand thinking he would be fine now. But alas! The panda was unable to maintain his balance as it was the edge and he ended up sliding back down. He went down so fast, facing turned upwards only and landed on his bottom in a comical way. Everyone started laughing at how cute he looked sitting there, his belly folded as he tried to pull himself to his feet. He was successful this time as he got up and tried to climb out again but the care-giver could not grip his hand and he slid down again.
The panda was so resilient and determined that he did not waste even a moment. He immediately went back to climb up and this time he have his hand to the care-giver. She gripped it tightly and started to pull him out again like the last time. As she pulled the panda out, she tried to steady herself. Remembering what had happened as she had steadied herself and let go of panda’s hand, she did not let go of him this time. She rolled him over, pulling his hand from one hand of hers and pushing his bottom up from the other hand. He was about to slide down again so she kept pulling him up. Finally she was successful in pulling him up and he got back on the ground happily. He then ran around laughing, running around happily all around the area.
He had kept sliding down because pandas are heavy animals and to steady his weight and himself on the thin edge was difficult for him. Because of this he was unable to support himself and the poor guy would end up back where he had started.
Pandas are the most adorable animals to watch. Since they are on the verge of becoming extinct, great care is being taken to breed them, to care for them and help them thrive. This is why the care-givers were so vigilant about the pandas, trailing them, making sure they do not harm or hurt themselves. It is a commendable job that is greatly responsible today for having helped the pandas survive.
